My itinerary

So here is a taste of where I'm off to!

First stop - Venezuela, South America - to see how the Venezuelan community has transformed their food system through ambitious land and agrarian reforms.  These new agricultural policies have embraced the idea of 'food sovereignty' and have channelled significant investment into infrastructure, equipment, distribution and education for 'non-chemical' farming, in order to build a 're-regionalised' (or localised) and sustainable food system.

Buenos Aires, Argentina - for some sight seeing, delicious food, tango/salsa dancing and hopefully gain insight into their food system and distribution models.

San Francisco, New York, Boston and Vermont, USA - to hopefully meet with some incredible individuals and organisations who are doing amazing and innovative things in food security and food literacy capacity building.

London and surrounds, UK - will catch up with friends (a bit of R&R will definitely be on the cards by this point!!), check out The People's Supermarket, Prince Charles' Sustainability Unit (with any luck!) and the fresh food markets and take a city farm cycle tour.

France/Spain - to walk The Camino or Santiago de Compostella.

Turin, Italy - to attend The Slow Food Movement's bi-annual meeting of international convivia; Terra Madre and Salone del Gusto (25-29 October).
